THE WHITTLED DOWN WEDDING. / by Faith Michaels

So many folks have had to postpone or downsize their wedding during Covid. It may be disappointing to some, but I have see the upside. The weddings are smaller, more intimate and more meaningful. Many, like this young JP couple decided to downsize their wedding and focus on improvements in their backyard.

When I first visited, I found an overgrown mess. They really wanted to create a large level space to celebrate with their family. Luiz and Lucas figured out how to do it by digging out an enormous boulder and building a long retaining wall. We added a nice pathway down to the space and granite steps to the lower level. Next season we will add a small lawn below. The FF team was happy to give the couple a gift of bluestone stepping stones. In return, they have promised celebration photos! Enjoy the before and afters!
